About me

About Michael Horsnall

I have practiced as an osteopath for over twenty years and currently train osteopaths for Keele university in Staffordshire. I  also work  from home and from a GP Health centre in Stafford.

I treat all sorts of conditions from  frozen shoulder and sciatica to  migraine and pregnancy back pain. I also treat children.

When you come to see me I will take a detailed case history  regarding the background of your symptoms and then I will  examine you carefully before deciding if I can help you or not. I may ask you to go for a scan or-with your permission- request information  from your GP. Most problems that people bring can be helped but sometimes osteopathy is not the answer in which case I will refer you back to your GP  with a letter.

How do you contact me?

Its quite simple- pick up the phone and call me on:

01785  225770   You do not need to ask your doctor first unless you are covered by BUPA  in which case you may need a referral from your GP.  You can ring me and ask  a few questions without charge.

What are my fees?

£35.00 for an initial  consultation and treatment which takes 45 minutes

£30.00 per session for follow up treatments.

How many treatments will I need?

I cannot say without first seeing you but most people visit the osteopath for around a handful of treatments- sometimes follow up treatments or maintenance appointments are neccessary - sometimes they are not.   Generally speaking the longer you have had a problem the longer it will take us to clear  it up.

Will I need to undress?

Osteopaths work by  touch,  they stretch muscles and they rotate joints. This is not as alarming as it sounds but it does mean that you will most likely need to be treated in your underwear. We supply  examination gowns for women  and these will stop you from feeling  exposed or embarrassed during the treatment. It is not always neccessary to fully  disrobe for treatment and this can be discused when you come.

What if I`m not certain about  whether I need treatment or not?

Come along anyway and I`ll have a look at you free of charge and give  an opinion as to whether I can help you or not.

How long will I have to wait to see the Osteopath?

Not long, usually we will see you within a day or two of your first contact, occasionally you may have to wait a few days before we can fit you in for an appointment.
