Nikki Walker   BSc (Hons) Psych BSc (Hons) Osteo.  Registered Osteopath

After obtaining a degree in Psychology and 5 years working in the Pharmaceutical industry, Nikki retrained as an Osteopath.  She set up the practice in 1999 and has seen it grow to house another three Osteopaths, a Chiropodist and a Therapeutic Masseur. Nikki is also  qualified in the use of Medical Acupuncture, ultrasound, interferential, and TENS machines and has  attended courses for treating Frozen Shoulder (Niel-Asher technique) and in giving Nutritional advice.  She has success treating all types of back and joint pains, and has a keen interest in treating neck pain, migraines, headaches, and whiplash as well as general sports injuries. 

 

 

 

Siobhan Byrne  RGN RHV BSc (Hons) Osteo.  Registered Osteopath

Siobhan joined the practice in 2001. As well as using the traditional osteopathic structural techniques, she has undertaken postgraduate training in cranial osteopathy.  Siobhan has treated patients of all types and she particularly enjoys working with those requiring a more gentle approach such as babies and elderly people.  In addition to her work at the practiceSiobhan works as a health visitor.

 

  

 

 

 

 Nick Cowan BSc (Hons) Biomed B.Ost. Med Registered Osteopath

Nick joined the practice in 2005 and has contributed much to the teams understanding of injuries occurring to sportsmen, having ran the Paris, London and Edinburgh marathons himself in the last 2 years. As well as using the traditional osteopathic techniques Nick has trained in and uses Acupuncture and Ultrasound Therapy.  He has a diploma in naturopathy from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

Sarah Fix BSc (Hons) Ost. Med D.O. N.D. Registered Osteopath

Sarah joined the practice in 2007 and has a broad range of experience working in private practice.  She particularly enjoys treating lower back and pelvic pain, as well as problems that arise from the working environment.  She has also qualified in the use of acupuncture, various forms of electrotherapy, and is also a practitioner of naturopathy.  In the future, she wishes to develop her scope of practice to treat animals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Angela Samways  ITEC  Therapeutic Massage 

Angela is married with two grown up children and has worked most of her life as a librarian.  

In 1993 and 1995 she had two eye operations and found that  massage was the only way to relieve the pain.  At the same time a friend and colleague was suffering from cancer and she found massage was very beneficial both physically and psychologically, helping her to come to terms with her situation.

  As a direct result of this experience Angela decided, in 1997, to train as a masseuse and took a course at the West London School of  Therapeutic Massage, gaining  the ITEC Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Body Massage.   She used the expertise gained to treat family and friends.

In 2005, after retiring from librarianship, she had treatment from Nikki Walker at Brookmans Park Osteopaths for lower back pain and eventually started working  at Bradmore Green as the Practice Manager.  Nikki has encouraged her to use her skills as a masseuse.
